Oops! Britney Spears is delaying her North American tour after being stung by the flu bug. The opening October 26 gig in Miami was supposed to hype her new album due November 6. Now, her tour will launch October 31 at Washington, D.C.'s MCI Center. The October 28 show in Tampa was rescheduled for December 18. The Miami date will close out the tour December 19. Five cities have also been added to her tour.

  • East Rutherford, New Jersey
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Raleigh, North Carolina

Britney caught the flu when she returned from her promotional tour in Australia. She actually cut her trip short after the September 11 terrorist attacks. She'll still make her November 18 performance in Las Vegas. HBO will broadcast that show live. Promotional billboards have already hit the Las Vegas strip featuring Britney in Elvis' famous white jumpsuit.

The Show Must Go On...Honest They've made another date and this time, they're crossing their fingers. Organizers for the Emmy Awards have set a new date: November 4. The new plans move the ceremony from the 6,000+ seats in the Shrine Auditorium to the 1,800 seat Shubert Theater. And the plans to broadcast the ceremony from Los Angeles and New York (following Emmy-nominated stars' concerns about flying) are also scrapped. Which leaves the question, who's going to get cut from the guest list? That is, if New York-based stars even plan on attending. Even heavier on organizers' minds, what if The Sopranos or Sex and the City stars don't show up? Between the two shows, they've received 32 nominations, 94 total for HBO. Ellen DeGeneres will remain as the host. Producer Gary Smith will take over the show since the original Emmy producer, Don Mischer, had to move his focus to the Winter Olympics. There will be one postparty called a "Unity Dinner" and the fancy gowns and tuxedos won't be present either. "Dressy business attire" will be worn by all of the Emmy Awards attendees instead.
