Backstreet Takes a Backseat Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean has extended his stay in rehabilitation. His doctor recommended an additional two weeks causing the rest of his bandmates to postpone their Black & Blue tour for the second time. A.J. initially entered the rehab center for 30 days to fight alcoholism, depression and other unnamed problems. The tour is now scheduled to resume August 24 in Milwaukee. Two cities, Los Angeles, California, and Tacoma, Washington, had to be cancelled altogether because of scheduling difficulties.

Tom and Nic Back Together...Sort Of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman will make their first public appearance together since their 10-year marriage busted up. But it's strictly business. They'll be promoting The Others, which Nicole starred in and Tom produced. The real question is, will Tom bring new squeeze Penélope Cruz? Ironically enough, Tom and Nic's first public appearance together is just one day before their marriage officially ends in divorce. "Bifurcation" was granted by a Los Angeles court. This process allows a couple to divorce before their assets have been split and child custody issues have been resolved.

Knight Rider Returns Have you missed David Hasselhoff? He was pretty steamed about the exit his character made on the long-running show Baywatch. But now he's opted for a new project. He says he's bringing Knight Rider back but he's taking the hit show to the big screen this time. According to David, he's talked William Daniels into returning as the voice of KITT - the car with a brain. Edward Mulhare, who played Devon Miles, has passed away. David says Devon will appear in the movie as a hologram, though. He vows the movie will be coming to a theater near you and adds, "We're talking about doing it a little bit like The Matrix."

Mariah's Malady Mariah Carey's publicist confirms that her client did indeed enter the hospital after suffering from "extreme exhaustion." And now she's confirmed that Mariah is "under psychiatric care" because she had "an emotional and physical breakdown." As far as her boyfriend, Luis Miguel, her publicist says he's "very concerned about her" but also says they " have not officially broken up." London tabloid reports said the couple parted ways, leaving Mariah super-stressed. Other London tabloids reported that the singing star attempted suicide. Mariah's rep says, "Mariah did break some dishes and glasses last Wednesday and may have cut her foot, but she definitely did not hurt herself intentionally. The suicide reports are not true." Mariah's last hospital visit was back in April of 2000 after she suffered from a case of food poisoning.
