They're Okay
Crooning couple Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake received some harsh news when it was reported they were both in a car wreck. According to Dallas, Texas, deejays Kramer & Twitch, Britney died and Justin was in a coma. The pranksters caused worldwide hysteria when locals hit the Internet with the "news." The story then grew and other details to the rumor were slowly added. In fact, more rumors stated that Britney was going over 105 mph on the L.A. freeways and en empty flask of liquor was found in the car. Pretty soon, the Los Angeles police and fire departments were flooded with calls about the alleged accident. An LAFD spokesman said their office received over 100 calls from as far away as Australia and New Zealand. Britney and Justin's reps say the story is absolutely false. Sonia Muckle of Jive Records said, "Spears and Timberlake are in great health. Timberlake is on tour with 'N Sync and Spears is currently in the studio recording her next album." Representatives for the couple are investigating this issue to determine if they will seek legal action for the hoax.
Pig Man Peppered One of the most controversial Survivor II castmates is back in the news. The famous pig "murderer", Michael Skupin, was burned once again. This time there was no fire to fall into. The fire came to him as he was repeatedly attacked with pepper spray by an animal-rights activist. Ironically enough, Michael was on his way to speak on behalf of a Missouri workplace safety program. His attacker, 30-year-old David Cravens, was arrested on the scene. However, Cravens handed Michael a letter stating that he acted alone, not on behalf of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) or any other animal-rights organization. Michael's been quite busy despite the attack. He recently announced he's considering a run for the U.S. Senate.
