"We just kind of looked around and figured there was just someone who wasn't there yet," Michael J. Fox told TV Guide. "Someone who was supposed to show up to the party. So we thought we'd issue an invite." And invite they did. Michael J. Fox (who's celebrating his 40th birthday this week) and wife Tracy Pollan are going to be a mommy and daddy again. The baby will be their fourth child, with son Sam Michael and twins Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances. Michael and Tracy have been married since 1988, after meeting on the '80s sitcom Family Ties. Michael's also working on a deal that would land him a guest spot on his former show Spin City in the fall. He left the show in May 2000 to battle Parkinson's disease.
Regis Solo
Just when she got all settled into Kathie Lee Gifford's chair, Kelly Ripa's leaving. But only temporarily. Regis Philbin will be stuck without a permanent co-host while Kelly takes her maternity leave. She's planning on coming back after four weeks but Regis says, "She's welcome to take six or eight or how many she needs. We understand, you know, but she wants to do it in four." While she's gone, Regis will have all sorts of college students sharing co-hosting duties. Kelly took over for Kathie Lee in February 2001 when Kathie Lee called an end to her 15 years on Live With Regis and Kathie Lee. An extensive search for a new co-host yielded such guest hosts as Gloria Estefan, Isabella Rossellini and Cybill Shepherd.
Celebrity Birthday Trivia: This week's birthday victim got an idea from watching his cousins perform at his uncle's church. He decided he wanted to be a rock star. So he took to the electric guitar his mother bought him for $25 and formed a band called the Flame. When he made his way to Los Angeles, he had to get a day job to put food on the table so he sold ads over the phone. He was briefly married to a make-up artist and she introduced him to Nicolas Cage. Nicolas liked the looks of our birthday boy so much, he set up a meeting with his agent for the two to meet. The rest is history. Who is he?
