Tom Sues...Again
Tom Cruise's role in
The Firm taught him all he needed to know about the legal system. When somebody does something you don't like, sue 'em. He filed another $100 million lawsuit to put out the fire on blazing rumors. This time, he's going after a Los Angeles man who allegedly contacted several publications with an offer to sell a secret videotape of Tom having sex with a man. Legal papers identify one Michael Davis as having sent Emails to various news organizations like the
Los Angeles Times, CNN and
Playboy. Mr. Davis stated in his Emails that he had proof of Tom cheating on Nicole Kidman while the couple was still together. Tom's attorney, Bertram Fields, says none of the news outlets picked up the story "because they all know it's false." The three-page lawsuit also claims that Michael Davis "is not his true name" because the man's real name "is unknown to the plaintiff." Tom
also filed a $100 million lawsuit against a 25-year-old male porn star who claims he and Tom were engaged in a sexual act when Nicole walked in on them. He also claims that's what
broke the couple's 10-year-marriage. Tom adamantly denies all rumors, saying he has never been in a homosexual relationship.
Rick's Leaving
You heard it here first! Rick Schroder is leaving
NYPD Blue. Despite constant denials from Rick's rep as well as
Blue producer Steven Bochco, Detective Danny Sorenson will be checking out of the 15th precinct. Rick offiicially announced his departure from the cop show with a statement. In it, he says he's leaving to spend more time with his family. He and his wife are expecting their fourth child in August. "The long hours required to shoot
NYPD Blue would prevent me from being where I really want to be at this time - which is with my family," he said. He portrayed Det. Sorenson for two and a half seasons. Technically, Rick was still under contract to remain on the show. But Bochco actually helped him out. "Rick Schroder is a gifted actor who has had a tremendous two and a half years with
NYPD Blue," Bochco said. "Rick is also a strong family man, and to honor his desire to spend more time with his wife and children, we are regretfully releasing him from his obligations to the show."
