Scoop for the Week of May 11th
Buffy Gets Wooden Stake Don't expect to see too much out of the WB in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's last days with the network. Execs killed a congratulations ad for Buffy's 100th episode scheduled to run in The Hollywood Reporter. Apparently, they're not too happy about the show leaving their network. The WB wasn't willing to cough up $1.8 million per episode but UPN topped the bidding with $2.35 million per show. UPN did buy its own ad celebrating the series, though. And if you're looking for Buffy pics off of the show's official WB Web site, you'll immediately notice they're missing. The WB pulled all photos because execs fear UPN and other members of the media will use them to promote the show. A WB spokeman said, "We're only exercising our contractual right to exclusively promote the show." Buffy the Vampire Slayer heads to UPN at the end of the summer.
