Arrested & Fired Robert Downey, Jr., was arrested Tuesday April 24 after police suspected he was under the influence of drugs. He spent several hours in jail before being released to his parole officer. The arrest could've sent him back to jail for a parole violation. But his parole officer opted to send him to a detoxification center for 72 hours instead. Less than six months ago, Robert was arrested for drug possession and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Back then, Ally McBeal producer David E. Kelley publicly stood by Robert. He even signed him for 11 more episodes as Calista Flockhart's love interest. Things are quite different now, though. Just hours after his arrest, David fired Robert from the show. He said, "We are wrapping up the stories on the final few episodes of Ally McBeal for the season without him." Robert heads to court May 4.

Matthew Crashes Friends star Matthew Perry can't seem to stay out of the limelight. There he was, just minding his own business when a 75-year-old woman rammed her car into his BMW. She apparently failed to yield to oncoming traffic at an intersection. Matthew's car suffered major damage to its front end but he's doing fine. Back in May 2000, Matthew wrecked his Porsche into the porch of a Hollywood Hills, California, home. Police conducted a thorough investigation into that accident and concluded that he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Matthew headed back to rehab at the beginning of March, sending the Friends crew into a "what do we do know" tailspin. Besides being involved in the biggest TV wedding of the year - the Monica-Chandler - wedding, reports out of the Friends camp say Monica's character is pregnant. The real-life Monica, Courteney Cox-Arquette, is pregnant with hubby David Arquette so the show's producers are writing her mommy-hood into the plot.

Friends May Ratings Stunts NBC isn't banking on the Monica-Chandler wedding to pull out a ratings winner against Survivor: The Australian Outback. So they're taking extra precautions. During May ratings, expect to see Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) experience a lesbian kiss with actress Winona Ryder. The upcoming episode will feature Winona as a former sorority sister Rachel was romantic with. You can also expect to see Kathleen Turner making a guest appearance as Chandler's (Matthew Perry) dad. Yes, dad. Kathleen's coming off her nude London stage performance as The Graduate's Mrs. Robinson. She'll play Chandler's cross-dressing dad who shows up for Monica and Chandler's wedding.
