Kidnapping Plot Revealed
In Proof of Life, Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan star in a kidnapping thriller. Now, that's hitting way too close to home for Russell. The FBI confirmed that there is indeed a plot by an unknown suspect(s) to kidnap him. Russell showed up at the Golden Globe awards in January with tuxedo-wearing FBI agents. He's also increased personal security since finding out about the kidnapping plot. But he's not staying out of the public eye. He recently made an appearance at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards in London. Russell's currently in Los Angeles, as the host for pre-Oscar screenings of Gladiator.
Survivor Secret Did you think Michael Skupin would be the Survivor airlifted out of the Kucha camp? His family certainly didn't think so. Michael passed out from smoke inhalation and fell into the camp's fire. He suffered severe burns and was transported to a burn unit in Brisbane, Australia. He told his family that the red marks were from a sunburn. They didn't know until the rest of the world did that he was the one that had actually been hurt. He says he didn't realize he was permanently off Survivor: The Australian Outback until a couple of days after the incident. Michael told CBS' The Early Show, "It was a mourning period. I still wanted to play. I felt like I had let the tribe down." Celebrity Birthday Trivia: Speaking of Sylvester Stallone, he and this birthday girl teamed up to film a movie. But the love scenes had to be re-shot because audiences were laughing during them. People complained that a love relationship between the two of them was hokey and the scenes were awkward.
