Scoop for the Week of February 2nd
Sarah Gives Shatner the Shaft It's no secret that Priceline.com dumped William Shatner as its spokesman. Company execs said they were headed in a more trendy direction. They didn't fail to disappoint. Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker is the new Priceline pitch woman. Sarah fans don't get too excited about seeing cable's Carrie Bradshaw on your local station, though. She's lending her voice to Priceline's latest ad campaign - not her image. William remains under contract with the Dot.Com until October but don't plan on seeing him in the new ad campaign either. Jason Heads to Rehab In a very Beverly Hills 90210-esque move, Jason Priestley recently completed a five-day work release jail program. He asked for more time to complete the other half of his sentence, attending an alcohol counseling program. It all stems from Jason's December 1999 car crash where he wrecked his Porsche and his passenger suffered a broken arm. Jason was later found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol. Judge H. Randolph Moore heard Jason's request for extension and granted him until July 2 to complete the program. At Jason's request, he's also been allowed to complete the program in New York, where he lives, rather than in California. His California license is suspended and he'll be on probation for three years.
