Scoop for the Week of February 2nd

Sarah Michelle Gellar
Buffy Bound, Sarah Gagged Sometimes you can't say what you feel no matter who you are. Sarah Michelle Gellar's hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer is up for renewal. If the WB doesn't pay more than its $1 million licensing fee per episode, then 20th Century Fox may put a For Sale sign on the show. But Sarah said she would stay on Buffy "if, and only if, Buffy stays on the WB." But the show's creator, Joss Whedon, had a few special, undisclosed words for Sarah. And the very next day Sarah said, "I'm not going anywhere, and I can't stress that enough. I intend to stay with Buffy no matter what." Perhaps Whedon's special words included the phrase "breach of contract." Sarah's under contract until 2003 and would be legally obligated to whatever network wins the show. If she left the show while under contract, she could be sued for everything she's already made on Buffy.

Sarah Gives Shatner the Shaft It's no secret that Priceline.com dumped William Shatner as its spokesman. Company execs said they were headed in a more trendy direction. They didn't fail to disappoint. Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker is the new Priceline pitch woman. Sarah fans don't get too excited about seeing cable's Carrie Bradshaw on your local station, though. She's lending her voice to Priceline's latest ad campaign - not her image. William remains under contract with the Dot.Com until October but don't plan on seeing him in the new ad campaign either.

Twins for Al & Bev Think a little baby can get into tough guy Al Pacino's heart? Two should definitely do the trick. Al and longtime girlfriend Beverly D'Angelo are the proud parents of twins. A boy (Anton) and a girl (Olivia). The bouncing babies are the first children for Beverly, star of the Vacation movies with Chevy Chase. Al has a daughter from a previous relationship. Beverly and Al have been together four years.

Jason Heads to Rehab In a very Beverly Hills 90210-esque move, Jason Priestley recently completed a five-day work release jail program. He asked for more time to complete the other half of his sentence, attending an alcohol counseling program. It all stems from Jason's December 1999 car crash where he wrecked his Porsche and his passenger suffered a broken arm. Jason was later found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol. Judge H. Randolph Moore heard Jason's request for extension and granted him until July 2 to complete the program. At Jason's request, he's also been allowed to complete the program in New York, where he lives, rather than in California. His California license is suspended and he'll be on probation for three years.
