Me & Myself...But No Irene Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger have split after one year of dating. The two met while shooting Me, Myself, & Irene. They began dating after production of the movie was complete. All seemed to be going well. The two made several appearances promoting Jim's new movie, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Engagement rumors swarmed around them after Jim bought a $200,000 friendship ring earlier this year. Meanwhile, Jim and Renee remain tight-lipped on the reasons behind their breakup.

The Queen of Pop Vs. The Princess They say money can't buy everything. Madonna proved the old cliche to be true. Before she booked a Scottish castle, Madonna asked Lady Di's brother if she could get married at Princess Diana's family home. But Earl Spencer couldn't her help out. Early reports claimed he flat out said no. He didn't want the press the wedding would cause. Now Earl's saying that's not true at all. They merely couldn't provide Madonna and Guy Ritchie with the facilities. The couple still deny they're going to be married on December 22. However, they secured "banns." It's a public announcement on forthcoming marriages. Guy Stewart Richie and Madonna Louise Ciccone were the last names on the list at the Dornoch, Scotland's registrar's office.

Heche Peeved Anne Heche is seriously considering suing The National Enquirer. It all stems from Robert Downey Jr.'s recent arrest. The National Enquirer published an article claiming that "an insider who spent 72 hours with Downey" said Robert "blamed Anne for his downfall." But Anne's agent had something else to say. "The accusations in this hideous story are completely malicious and false." He also says that Anne's really upset and that "this is going to get ugly." Robert's spokesman had no comment.

Jack Lemmon Hospitalized He received an achievement award from Angela Lansbury Sunday. But Jack Lemmon had to accept the honor over the telephone. He was being treated for a colon condition known as diverticulitis. The Hollywood Women's Press Club honored Jack with the Buddy Rogers Legend Award. Jack, 75, was the voice of Old Hardy Greaves in The Legend of Bagger Vance and is better known for his pairing with Walter Matthau in the Odd Couple and Grumpy Old Men movies.
