Bush-Whacked
He may not be the President. But he plays on one TV. And right now, that's good enough to start a revolution. Martin Sheen plays President Josiah Bartlet on The West Wing. But off-screen, while addressing a group at a California treatment center, he called Governor George W. Bush a "white-knuckle drunk." Martin says he's not trying to insult W, he's trying to make him acknowledge the severity of drug and alcohol dependence. He's a recovering addict himself and his son, Charlie Sheen, says he's clean now too. (You may remember back in 1998 when Papa Sheen took out an arrest warrant on Charlie to force him into drug rehab.) Bush's 1976 DUI arrest made headlines prior to the Nov. 7 elections. He says he hasn't had a drink since he was 40 but Martin says, "[Bush] is still in denial about it. You have got to be in a program. I did not make up the rules about that."
Britney's Busy Sorry Buffy. The vampires will have to wait. Britney Spears is way too busy to guest star on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She's close pals with Sarah Michelle Gellar but there's a little thing called a scheduling conflict getting in the way. Britney agreed to be on the show but had to pull out of her planned appearance. Buffy producers say the show will go on. They'll just have to replace the teen pop queen. Producers are still being very tight-lipped about what kind of character Britney was supposed to play - slayer or slayee. Her rep says she'd still love to do the show. Her mega-status is just clouding her free time. Melanie's Malady Melanie Griffith said she was taking fertility drugs back in July. She and hubby Antonio Banderas want a second child. But she's been popping more than baby-producing pills. Melanie's entered rehab for addiction to prescription painkillers. The drug was prescribed to her after a neck injury and her doctor referred her to a treatment program at a hospital in Marina Del Rey. Matthew Perry says he's kicked his habit of the prescription drug Vicodin. He entered treatment several times for other drugs and alcohol addictions. Now Matthew says he's living the good life - drug and alcohol free. Gwyneth Heinz Gwyneth Paltrow said she and Ben Affleck weren't an item anymore. And she meant it. She's been spotted with Chris Heinz. Yes, that Heinz. Of Heinz Ketchup. He's an heir to the Ketchup throne, if you will. First dates are usually awkward, right? Women get ready to swoon. Fellas get ready to take notes. For their first date, Chris swept Gwyneth off to London. Not bad. But how's he going to top that? Go To Page: 1 2
