Baldwins Fleeing The Country? It's no secret that the Baldwins support Democrat Al Gore for president. But Alec Baldwin is severely distraught over new rumors that his wife, Kim Basinger, stated they would leave the country if Republican candidate George W. Bush is elected. Focus, a German magazine quoted Kim as saying they'd leave the United States. When the other media outlets picked up on the story, Alec was barraged with hate mail. His official web site received so many derogatory posts that he released a statement to clear up any confusion. In it he states, "Matt Drudge has reported that my wife stated in Focus magazine that my family would leave the country if George W. Bush were elected president. That statement is not true. My wife never made the statement which the magazine is attributing to her." To further bruise Focus magazine's credibility, Alec said, "I never said I'd leave the country. And my wife never heard of Focus magazine, and never talked to them."
