Shut Your Mouth!
Not everyone finds funnyman Jim Carrey so funny. Tipper Gore can't find anything in the movie Me, Myself and Irene to crack a smile about. She says his portrayal of a schizophrenic state trooper is just plain insensitive. Tipper recently launched a nationwide Mental Health Awareness campaign and says she used to suffer from clinical depression. Even though Jim has admitted to suffering from depression himself and taking Prozac for the illness, Tipper says using schizophrenia to get laughs is way off the beaten comedy path.
Feeling A Little Green Drew Barrymore's romance with MTV's Tom Green is suffering a minor setback. The couple wants to get married but her daddy's getting in the way! Drew and Tom began dating back in February and wanted to get married in late summer or early fall. But Drew can't tie the knot until she finds a detox center for papa, John Barrymore. For nearly twenty years, John's been an alcoholic and drug addict. And it was just two years ago that Drew took him off the streets and into her Hollywood Hills estate. She said he could stay as long as he laid off the booze and drugs. He couldn't and so he left. But she's making one last effort to get him off the bad stuff once and for all - just like she did. And for the time being, that means she has to limit her cuddle time with Tom. Berry's Busted Up No, Halle Berry hasn't been in another car accident. This time she's busted up over her and her fiance's wedding...or lack thereof. She's engaged to singer Eric Benet. But she can't seem to get him to the altar. They've set two different dates for their wedding, but he keeps backing out. There's always something. Not enough time for a honeymoon, wanting to take time to plan the perfect wedding. Her friends are worried that she'll fall into another depression like she did after her divorce from baseball's David Justice. Halle even admits she tried to kill herself after their marriage ended. And considering Eric will only go onstage barefoot, maybe he's literally getting cold feet. Golden Girl Recovering You heard it here first. Estelle Getty has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. But she recently suffered a different health breakdown. She fell at her home, breaking her shoulder and cracking her head. Her Golden Girls co-stars, Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Betty White visited her while she spent 10 days at a Los Angeles hospital. Estelle is best-known for her portrayal as Sophia Petrillo on the Golden Girls. Go To Page: 1 2
