X-Files or Ex-Files?
He
said he wouldn't be back. So guess what? He'll be back!
David Duchovny will be
searching for the truth for one more year on the
X-Files. First he held out for more money. Then the settlement of his lawsuit against
Fox. And don't forget about him wanting more opportunities to write and direct future
episodes. David won't discuss the details of the agreement but sources say he'll be pulling
in $20 million...about $350,000 to $400,000 per show. Here's another twist to add to your
"file cabinet": He's only committed to 11 episodes. The regular season is 22. Co-star
Gillian Anderson was
already signed on for an eighth season so you just might be seeing Scully flying solo after
all.
The Element Of Surprise
When
George
Clooney appeared on
ER recently, he wanted
to surprise everyone. But he's pretty miffed at NBC. He's been very verbal at NBC's
inability to keep a secret. George says his two-line return as Dr. Doug Ross was so hush-hush that even his agent didn't know. When he did opt-in to return, though, the scene was
shot in Seattle with a four-person crew. The show's executive producer even kept the
footage at home. He told George that if one of the crew sold the story, he wouldn't air the
episode. But on the day of the show, NBC aired promos promising a surprise guest. "NBC
can't help stepping on their own feet," George said. "And to promote it after we worked
so hard to keep it a secret."
Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!
What's it like to be married to Marcia Brady? Just ask Ben Stiller. While he didn't marry
the original Marcia Brady, he married Christine Taylor--the look-alike appearing as
Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie and its sequel. The two were married on a
tropical beach on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. Ben's parents, Anne Meara and Jerry
Stiller, were present at the private ceremony. Ben and Christine became engaged back in
November. This is the first marriage for both of them but Ben was previously engaged to
Jeanne Tripplehorn.
The Price Of Being A Fan
Looks like Madonna's got a thing for bad boys. Former hubby--Sean Penn--landed the two on the cover of the tabloids for his hot head and clenched fists. Now,
Madonna's new boy toy--Guy Ritchie--has reacquainted her with the tabloid spotlight. He
was arrested after allegedly assaulting a man outside Madonna's London home. Rumor has
it, the man was just trying to get a glimpse of the "Material Mom" when Guy roughed him
