Not Hitting The High Notes She loves butterflies. But that's not what was in Mariah Carey's aching stomach. A bad plate of raw oysters are being blamed for the high-pitched singer's hospitalization. She was admitted for dehydration and food poisoning caused by a bad seafood dinner in Atlanta. She warned her Atlanta audience that she wasn't feeling well but went on with the show. But that didn't stop critics from slamming Mariah's poor performance. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution wrote that even good seafood couldn't have saved the show. What a heartbreaker.

Heart Attack Scare It wasn't Anne Heche's latest movie that had Ellen DeGeneres screaming, "heart attack." After launching a new sitcom, developing an HBO special and campaigning for gay rights, Ellen worked herself up into some major chest pains. She was admitted to the hospital after complaining of heart palpitations. Doctors immediately sent her to the cardiac care unit while a frantic Anne waited with her at the hospital. But doctors have given her a clean bill of health after Ellen promised to slow things down.

Berry's Big Break Halle Berry's been the topic of choice lately. From polls on her being tight-lipped to articles covering her hit-and-run car accident. Perhaps Halle's unfavorable limelight will die down a little bit now since she's been charged with the misdemeanor of leaving an accident scene. She could have been charge with a hit-and-run felony. But she still faces up to one year in jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in the state pen. Accident investigators took into account that Halle was dazed by the accident but did report the incident when she arrived at a hospital for medical treatment. Her head was gashed and required 10 stitches. The woman driving the other vehicle suffered a broken wrist. She has since sued Halle for damages in a civil suit.

Oh Deer Looks like that pesky deer is at it again. Jason Priestley used the "swerving to avoid a deer" excuse and so did Catherine Zeta-Jones in her car crash back in August. Turns out, Jason was drunk. And that's what Catherine's passenger is claiming in a newly filed lawsuit against the future Mrs. Michael Douglas. Movie editor Petra von Oelffen filed suit against her former friend, saying Catherine was negligent when she drove her Range Rover into a tree. Catherine only suffered minor bruises but Petra's ankle was broken. The amount of damages are still unspecified but include hospital expenses, wage loss and loss of earning capacity.
