Ally's Firm Shaken Up The word's out on just what it was that had Ally McBeal star Lisa Nicole Carson in the hospital for two-weeks. A bad drug trip. She said, "I smoked a joint that was laced with PCP. I think the joint may have triggered a collapse in my nervous system." Gee, you think? She also mentioned her future on Ally is in uncertain but she's scheduled to return to the set in two weeks.

In other Ally news, Billy's saying bye-bye. Gil Bellows will be leaving the firm...but don't worry. He'll be back as a recurring character next season. He plays, Billy Campbell, the ex-boyfriend of Ally (Calista Flockhart) and the husband of Georgia (Courtney Thorne-Smith). In the past season, Billy's cheated on his wife, hired a set of models to escort him to meetings, bleached his hair and decided all women should stay at home to have children. Fox is pretty tight-lipped on how Billy will leave the firm. But the most recent clue was in Monday's episode: Georgia sued the firm for breaking up her marriage. Mum's still the word but in proper Fox fashion, is a "Who Shot Mr. Burns" take really that far out there?

Julianne A Starling? You know Jodie Foster's out. So just who will play Clarice Starling in Hannibal, the sequel to The Silence of the Lambs? Looks like we'll be seeing Julianne Moore stepping into the shoes of the FBI agent. It's not a done deal yet but final negotiations are underway. The role may have won Jodie a Best Actress Oscar in 1991. But Julianne's been a contender herself. She was nominated for an Oscar in 1997's Boogie Nights and might just win a Best Actress nomination for The End of the Affair. And if you don't want to know any more about scenes from Hannibal or you have a weak stomach, then you may not want to read on. Rumor has it, some A-list actresses weren't interested in the role because of a scene in which Starling and Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) chow down on human gray matter. How's that for a hearty appetite?

Kilborn Vs. Kentucky How much does it cost to offend the city of Owensboro, KY? Just ask CBS. They're paying $5,000 to the Kentucky chapter of the American Red Cross. What's all the fuss about? Craig Kilborn, host of The Late Late Show made an on-air joke about a tornado that struck Owensboro. He said replacement trailer houses were on their way to residents. He also said Kentucky lawmakers had changed the name of the state to "Kensucky." Needless to say, Kentucky lawmakers were not amused.
