She's Out
Melissa Etheridge has come
out. No, this isn't old news. She's finally let the world in on a tight-lipped secret: Who is
the father of her kids? He is none other than David Crosby. Melissa felt he was a natural
choice, so-to-speak, for her partner (Julie Cypher) to be artificially inseminated by. Julie
was formerly married to actor Lou Diamond Phillips.
David has four children of his own ranging from ages 35 to four. Melissa says he wasn't present at the births of her and Julie's children, three-year-old daughter Bailey and one-year-old son Beckett. The family appears on the cover of Rolling Stone, along with David and his wife, Jan. Melissa and Julie decided to go public because they were tired of the on-going questions. So the myth of Brad Pitt being the father has been shattered. Bet Jennifer Aniston is breathing a sigh of relief. Pre-Wedding Nuptials What do you do before you get married in Hollywood? Sign a pre-nupt. Sound romantic? Well, that's exactly what Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones are doing. The soon-to-be Mrs. Douglas didn't wait long to grab her ink pen. She understands that Michael's a little squeamish after having to pay his ex-wife a huge settlement after their 22 year marriage fell apart. Besides, Catherine can always hock the engagement ring if the marriage is a bust - a 1920's 10-carat diamond surrounded by 28 smaller stones. Its estimated value is somewhere between $820,000 and $3.3 million. Madonna Searches For A Ray Of Light After George Harrison's near-fatal stabbing, Madonna's reevaluating her own security. Just weeks after buying a $6.55 million home in London, she's put it back up for sale. Her security advisers told her the four-story mansion was completely unsuitable for a celebrity. Evidently, the house is totally visible from the road which is a celebrity no-no. Madonna is looking to purchase another home in London with better security. And, of course, she's probably still a little spooked from an October death threat that lead to her and her daughter seeking a police escort at London's Heathrow airport. Spade's Trump Card He's not apologizing. David Spade admits his new cartoon character, Sammy, is based on his father, who walked out on his wife when David and his two brothers were toddlers. The NBC comedy is scheduled to air in the spring. But he says his father has already viewed Sammy and he's "cool with it." Sammy's cast of voices includes David, Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, Harland Williams, Jeffrey Tambor and Julia Sweeney. No word yet on which of their family members they'll get to mock.
