Seems Kathie Lee publicly dragged Jaclyn into the Third World exploitation issue. Kathie Lee invited Jaclyn to join her at a meeting with President Clinton to discuss sweatshops. But when Jaclyn didn't respond to Kathie Lee's invitation, she took it personally. In a recent interview with Jane Pauley on Dateline, Kathie Lee said, "When Jaclyn Smith was contacted she said, 'Oh no, that doesn't happen. My clothes are never made in factories like that. Well, the truth is, our clothes are all made in the same factories. Mine next to Donna Karan, next to Jaclyn Smith, next to Ralph Lauren in many cases.'" Better call Kate and Cheryl. This sweatshop story needs more angels.
