Scoop for the Week of Oct. 29th

Hoffman Setting A Fashion Trend? Perhaps Dustin Hoffman was trying to start a new trend at the GQ Men of the Year awards. He showed up in a new Calvin Klein suit...still sporting its hefty price tag!

A Real Dream Team! David Duchovny as point guard? Coolio as a forward? It could happen if the NBA Entertainment League gets off the ground. The new league would consist of 10 teams of 12 players. Other stars already on the roster include Lou Diamond Philips, Damon Wayans, Dylan McDermott, Ray Liotta and Jaleel White. The only problem is that the three-month regular season is closed to the public and won't be televised. But if all goes well, we might be able to see the playoffs and finals. The league is open to women, but so far that roster is empty.

Is Norm Normal? Somebody else who needs to hang on to their day job is Norm Macdonald. He better hope his show Norm isn't going away any time soon. The former Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchor admits he's a huge gambler but doesn't think he needs help. Norm says he's bet up to $200,000 on a weekend's worth of ballgames and spent 12 straight hours at a craps table. And if you didn't think Norm was very funny on SNL - which is the story the show's producers are sticking to - then you very well may be right. He says a lot of times he was thinking about gambling during the show. Norm says, "I don't see how it can physically harm you. All it can do is take away your money and you can always make more money." You've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em Norm.
