Scoop For The Week of August 13th

Tragedy Strikes Shatner William Shatner returned home Monday night only to find his 40-year-old wife, Nerine Kidd, floating in the swimming pool unconscious. He pulled her from the pool and called 911. The 911 operator instructed Shatner over the phone on how to perform CPR but all attempts to revive Kidd failed. The police do not suspect foul play but an autopsy will be performed. Shatner said, "She meant everything to me."

Helen's Mad About Signing Autographs Next time you see Helen Hunt, don't go running up to her with your autograph book. She's as bad as it gets for signing autographs, according to the contributing editor of Autograph Collector. Helen tops the list of worst celebrity autograph signers with a sloppy autograph, if she signs at all. Other bad signers include: Bill Murray who flat-out hates collectors and makes no bones about it. Then there's Leonardo DiCaprio who doesn't like the fact he became so famous so fast. So what's Gwyneth Paltrow's excuse? The ink ran out of her pen even though she had a slow rise to fame. Sources say she used to be sweet before her Oscar and during the time she was with Brad Pitt. And then there's Kim Basinger. She'll go to great lengths to avoid giving autographs. But even if you do corner her, she just won't sign. At least Sandra Bullock pulls the old "I only sign for kids and charities" routine. Know how lovable Meg Ryan acts? Even with seven little letters in her name, she'll still sign a sloppy mess if you can get her to sign at all.

But if you do have a blank page in your autograph book that's screaming for some ink, never fear! There are a few good autograph givers. Get an autograph for your grandmother, step-brother, cousin and dog from Gary Oldman He'll sign as much as you need. And James Woods will go out of his way to see that you get his autograph. Matt Damon's just as cooperative (pictured left). He loves to meet his fans and sign autographs. And if you love Steven Spielberg's work, be sure to tell him. He likes to know what fans think about his movies. Plus, he'll even make you feel like he's known you forever.

Remember these names the next time you see your favorite celebs out on the street. While some won't sign, some will be more than happy to fill your autograph book with their John Henry.
