Livin' La Vida Solo
Hearts are about to be broken. Ricky
Martin has a girlfriend. But his managers won't let him see her. They say it's bad for
his image. When Ricky showed up at the Grammy's with the gorgeous blond, TV
Presenter Rebecca de Alba, it caused an uproar among his female fans. Managers said his
career would be hurt and that he better cool it. They want him to appear as free as a bird
so that every woman in the world can hope that she's his "special" girl. The couple talks on
the phone constantly and they usually meet secretly in Miami or New York. Remember,
you heard it
here a couple of weeks ago that Ricky was in New York on Saturday Night Live. But that night he
was spotted at a swanky restaurant with Jerry Seinfeld and Monica Lewinsky. Now if that
doesn't hurt his image, nothing will.
Daddy Depp Johnny Depp (who's on this week's birthday list) has never been one to follow the crowd. But this time it's different. He joined the Hollywood baby boom with the birth of his daughter, Lily-Rose Melody Depp. But Depp was seen smooching with his Sleepy Hollow co-star, Christina Ricci, while Mommy Depp, Vanessa Paradis, waited in a hotel room for him. Some of Depp's past-smooching partners include: Jennifer Grey (pre-nose job), Kate Moss and Winona Ryder. Ironically, Winona starred in Mermaids with a little kid named Christina Ricci. Putting a Price on Gossip The cost of gossip just went up! If you like gossip - and obviously you do - better not go to work for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. When their former employee sued Tom and Nic for unfair dismissal, an eight page document outlining the couples expectations showed up in court. The signed document states the staff must pay a set fine for any breach in confidentiality regarding their private lives. So how much could it cost for a slip-up? $50,000 for "private disclosure or repetition of Confidential Information," $50,000 "for each time the disclosure was made," $1,000 000 minimum for any information that appears in a given publication and for talking to the press, "$20 for each copy printed, with a minimum of $1,000,000 per publication." The list goes on and on. But never fear. If you still want to become the newest employee of the Cruise/Kidman household - and you do have loose lips - you'll only have to pay half of any fines if it's your first offense. See, Tom and Nic aren't so bad.
