Dueling Divas
Hold on to your wig! Tina Turner and Elton John were duking it out at VH-1's Divas Live '99. Sources say the two never should have been on stage together. An ongoing feud has been underway and Divas Live '99 became the forum for Hissy Fits '99. Tina apparently complained of Elton's piano playing during rehearsal to which he replied she should worry about her singing and he'll worry about his piano playing - in so many words. Elton stomped off to his trailer and Tina stormed right behind. After a shouting match, the two came out and walked separately back to the theater to finish rehearsal. You can certainly say love's got nothing to do with it.
Talk about a room with a view! Wouldn't you just love to be at the Daytime Emmy Awards on May 21 when Debbie Matenopoulos walks in? The former cast member of The View is up for an Emmy for Best Talk Show Host along with former fellow View co-workers Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Joy Behar. Debbie's agent received a call from The View saying the still-employed stars wouldn't feel comfortable with her there. Guess not, since they didn't even say goodbye after they fired her. But 23-year-old Debbie told Howard Stern if The View wins, she'll take the stage with the rest of them.
Pamela Hits Media With a Surprise
Remember how proud we were of Pamela Anderson Lee when she swore her relationship with husband Tommy Lee was over because he hit her? Well, she's dropped her breast implants and added Tommy back into her life. Is Tommy for real this time? Maybe he's just running scared. Remember it was just a few weeks ago when Dennis Rodman was after Tommy for parading around Las Vegas with Rodman's wife, Carmen Electra. Looks like Tommy's got a thing for former Baywatch beauties. In any case, Pamela says it's going to work this time. Tommy quit Motley Crue (watch out for the frequently flying "F" word on that site) to reportedly devote more time to his family. But he's also embarking on his solo career, a decision that was made when he had all that free time in jail for allegedly hitting Pamela while she was holding their infant son. As far as Pamela's career... Well, it doesn't look like the removal of her breast implants hurt her popularity. In fact, her series V.I.P. just wrapped up the final series of its premiere season. Fashion magazines like Vogue are calling like crazy wanting Pamela on their cover and even Playboy, the magazine that has graced her on the cover more times than anyone else, wants her back. And as a side note, a silicon leak was discovered during her implant removal surgery but she had no idea when she went under the knife. Look for the happy pair (Pamela and Tommy, that is) to appear at the World Music Awards airing on May 20. Pamela is hosting and will make her entrance from a bubble bath.
