Celebrating with Cats

© Caroline Anderson

Do you celebrate everything with your cats? A birthday (theirs or yours), Christmas, Flag Day? Do you give special presents, dress them up, send a card or just include them in the festivities? If our cats are truely members of our family, then the answer is probably yes to at least some of those things.

We celebrate our cats' birthdays with special foods, a new toy and lots of attention. I have to admit, I haven't sung "Happy Birthday" to them or baked a cake. But there are folks who do that and more for their cats. And of course, the cats appreciate the extra attention. They may not know why, but they sure like their birthdays!

If you're anything like me, you've thought about what to get your cat for Christmas. Here's an article that should give you a few ideas and helpful list of free and discounted gifts for cats. And here is an article about one gift that pet lovers shouldn't buy. If you still need ideas, here's something else to think about.

Whatever you do, where ever you travel this holiday season, I hope you & yours have a great time. Tell us how you celebrate with your cats!
