The Cure d'Ars, An Example of Sanctity - Page 4

This brings us full circle back to Philomena who introduced us to Vianney to begin with. One saint helping another in their work, whether helping in heaven or on earth.

For next time I was thinking of writing about The Blessed Mother Mary whose month is traditionally the month of May, but since she slips in and out of the lives of the saints anyway, like the quiet morning star, maybe that's how I will leave it. Besides, there are no words I could find to describe the mystery of Mary. There are things in life, and apparently in heaven as well that are private, untouched and holy, better left as a statement of silence, consolation in sorrow, or a heady comfort in joy.

And now I will leave you with a quote of the Cure of Ars, picked randomly from The Little Catechism of The Cure of Ars: "Our Catechism teaches us, my children, that prayer is an elevation, an application of our mind and of our heart to God, to make known to Him our wants and to ask for His assistance. We do not see the good God, my children, but he sees us, He hears us, He wills that we should raise towards Him what is most noble in us - our minds and our heart...it was by prayer that the saints reached Heaven: and by prayer we too shall reach it."
