Louis de Montfort also founded a clerical institute devoted to Marian devotion and to service to the poor now called the Montfort Missionaries.

Fatima, Portugal, is the site of the most famous modern apparition of Mary. In 1917, Mary appeared to three shepherd children over a period of six months. Mary spoke these words asking for many prayers for world peace, devotion to her Immaculate Heart and First Saturday Devotions.

Marian apparitions have reached an all time high. Many truly believe that Mary is speaking to us in her role as Mother of the Church. In any case, "she is mother wherever he is Savior . . .." [973]
