Carpentier managed a smile but the undisputed Hard Luck King of the CART paddock made his point. What on earth has he done to deserve such poor fate?
The latest chapter of bad breaks, literally and figuratively, occurred Sunday afternoon on Lap 53 of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. While attempting to pass Max Papis, the 29-year-old Canadian was forced onto the speed bumps and into the rear of Papis' car. His left hand was wrenched in the yoke of the steering wheel and he suffered a chipped bone.

The Next Race

You can look forward to April 29th when the CART FedEx Series runs on a NASCAR track. The Firestone Firehawk 600 Presented by Pioneer will be held at the Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, Texas, a 1.5 mile oval.

The race will be telecasted on ESPN, Sunday, April 29, 3:00 pm (ET).
