The Volkswagon Beetle is back and what a traffic stopper and double taker it is. It could even be called "cute" as a bug. The Beetle is an awesome looking car starting at a cost of $15,700 and comes with a 115-horsepower, 2.0 liter engine. It delivers excellent fuel economy at 41 m.p.g. city and 48 m.p.g. highway with a standard five-speed manual transmission.
Some complaints regarding the Volkswagon Beetle include the installation of a massive size dashboard for such a small car. The rear seat headroom is somewhat restricted and there is not much rear leg seat room. Very little luggage space behind the rear seat back could cause a problem if one is planning an extended road trip. On the plus side however is the use of plastic fenders that will prevent rust and is more resistant to dings and scratches. The steering wheel which has 3 aluminum spokes has a thick rim for a better grip. The front seats move well forward to make climbing into the rear extremely easy. The best part about the new Beetle is driving a car with an excellent body style and eye appeal. The Volkswagon Beetle brings back great memories for baby boomers, many whom have fond memories of the Beetle, which was as unique back in the 1960's as it is today. Everyone has a Beetle story and the nostalgia part of it will most likely play a big part in new Beetle sales its first year on the market. Go To Page: 1
