In trying to finish part 1 of this series of essays on inspiration, A Gift of the Spirit, I ran out of time and space before I could mention one of the truly great sources of inspiration on the Net. I mean, of course, the great repository of topics, articles and courses reflecting the theme of inspiration directly or indirectly at Suite101.
So, let me apologize ahead of time for any sins of omission. Contributing Editor, Ruby Bayan-Gagelonia's Inspiration/Motivation contains a wealth of useful , inspiring writings. "Here" she says, "we share and discuss practical ways to brighten our day, lift our spirits, and basically enjoy life. We discover ways to be happy, to succeed, and to find fulfillment in everything we do." Drop by Ruby's award-winning website, Our Simple Joys to sample more of her uplifting writing. Suite101 is truly a haven for writers and other artists who wish to get in touch with the "Muse." Inspirations of a Writer by Contributing Editor, Mridu Khullar, is a topic that in Mridu's own words helps writers (and others) ". . .discover the many techniques that can inspire and motivate a writer to do what he [she] does best - write." She is quick to point out: "As so many writers have found out, 'Don't wait for the muse - make it come to you.'" Mridu also maintains an excellent writer's resource on the Net called, Writer's Crossing, that features articles on finding inspiration. Many writers find well-known Australian writer Sally Odger's Introduction to Creative Writing at Suite University a wellspring of inspiration. Sally offers her own perspective on writing and in the process shows her students how to get in touch with their own uniqueness as writers. Her Write Australian topic is fascinating also. While not directly involved in inspirational writing, some Suite101 topics often offer uplifting content. At Suite101 we are blessed--in my opinion--with two of the finest nature writers of our times in Renie Burghardt and Van Waffle. Renie Burghardt's Nature Sketches is a very popular topic here at the Suite-and rightly so-as Renie's unique background as a World War II refugee coupled with her wonderful insights, spiritual appreciation of nature and simple, but elegant style often fill us up to the brim of our souls with beauty and sincerity.
