Last year, 2001, was also my first year as a Suite101 Contributing Editor. I have already written in Suite Dreams of the profound effect that writing regularly for Suite101 has had on my writing, my life as a whole, and my dreams of fulfillment of a passion that began in my teen years to become a successful writer.

Rather than include links to all articles, I have just included essays that seem to me to represent the best of my work. Most of the ones included herewith are also the most popular with readers of Caring for the Soul.

Note: Be sure to check out the recap articles by other Suite101 contributing editors at the end of this essay

The essays referenced in this article represent about half of my published work on Suite101. There is also an Index with links and summaries of all articles available for your convenience.

I tossed off Lemons & Lemonade, Peaches & Cream one evening as I desperately tried to make my Sunday deadline. It has proved to be my most popular essay by far. Apparently it touched that "insecure" nerve that we all share in our decision-making!

"These I Have Loved" celebrates the "small" things of life that perhaps give us the most satisfaction in the end. Many readers enjoyed the taste of the poetry of the English War poet, Rupert Brooke, whose exquisite poem, The Great Lover is featured in the essay.

Loafer's Glory relates meditation to the insights of mysticism and literature while connecting the wonders of a "glorious" place name with the poetry of Walt Whitman.

Mitakyasi, which means "All My Relations," is based on my experiences while participating in a Lakota sweat lodge a few years ago. This essay was a Featured Article in the Reading Center in October. It is a personal favorite of mine, as it deals with relationships among the self and all beings.

Washing the Soul in Moonlight relates the soulful beauty of moonlight on the ocean and how much seeing this phenomenon meant to my mother and myself on the occasion of her 80th birthday.

After the events of 9/11/01, I wrote If Still Your Orchards Bear to help heal my own unsettled feelings about the crisis while celebrating September, which in the northern hemisphere is a time of transition from summer to fall.

With The Key to the Treasure is the Treasure, I sought to share my knowledge regarding the use of affirmations to keep one in a positive frame of mind or even change the nature of one's personal reality.
