Whether you are in academia or in another historical profession, attending meetings is a way to maintain involvement in History. There are a number of conferences in historical fields each year. The American Historical Association provides links to a number of historical associations, most of which have annual meetings, at http://www.theaha.org. These meetings are often places to interview for jobs, network, and present papers. The AHA's Perspectives often includes information on conferences including calls for papers. The Organization of American Historians Newsletter also provides conference and call for papers information at http://indiana.edu/~oah/programs.html. Their annual conference is being held in St. Louis from 30 March to 2 April 2000.
