"Strength in Knowing, Support in Sharing"

As I was doing some research on the Internet I found an excellent web-site for women. The above title called to me and really says a lot of how I feel. When I was diagnosed with cancer I didn't know about the Internet. I wanted knowledge and information about my cancer, and I found books and read everything I could. Today the Internet has many resources, information and support for cancer patients. This web-site that I found offers the above and much more.

"The Gillette Women's Cancer Connection"

The Gillette Women's Cancer Connection provides women, their families and friends with access to vital connections to people and resources needed to ease the journey through the treatment of women's cancers. Many experts believe that when families have support and achieve emotional wellness, they are better able to focus on recovery.

The Gillette Women's Cancer Connection Web site: http://www.gillettecancerconnect.org provides critical tools, resources and information including: local support group listings, a highly interactive online support community, as well as articles, advice and tips specifically designed for women, spouses, children, parents, siblings, friends and co-workers dealing with the emotional and social issues brought on by breast or gynecological cancer.

Connecting to Wellness Seminars

A series of seminars held across the nation for women with breast and gynecological cancers, their families, friends and co-workers. Led by Ronnie Kaye, a best-selling author and two-time breast cancer survivor, the seminars provide women and the people that care about them with compassionate guidance and information about the emotional and social issues they face during the cancer experience.

Kids Konnected

Through a special partnership grant, the Gillette Women's Cancer Connection helps Kids Konnected, a national nonprofit organization, meet its mission of offering friendship, understanding, education and support for kids (ages 3-18) who have a parent with cancer.

Brochure Series

The Gillette Women's Cancer Connection educational brochure series addresses the emotional and social issues surrounding a woman's diagnosis of breast or gynecological cancer. The first two brochures in the series include "A Road Map to Emotional Wellness," offering women information and advice on how to cope with the changes in their everyday lives, as well as their feelings of confusion, fear and helplessness; and "When Someone You Love Has Cancer: A Guide for Families" provides information to the spouse/partner and children on what they can do to effectively communicate as a family, as well as support the woman in their life who has cancer.
