CANADA DAY

Canada Day Cake

Canada Day Cake Ingredients:

Pound or angel cake sliced 2 packages of strawberry gelatin Strawberries Ice cubes Cool Whip (light or regular) 13 x 9 baking dish

Instructions:

Line the bottom of your baking dish with the sliced cake. Dissolve 2 packages of gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Add 3 cups of ice cubes. Stir 3 minutes or until the gelatin thickens. Remove remaining ice. Add 2 cups of crushed strawberries. Pour gelatin mixture over the cake. Chill for 2 hours. Arrange sliced strawberries on each end of the cake to form the red ends of the flag. Arrange sliced strawberries to form a maple leaf in the center of the cake. Chill until served.

My American friends and readers can make a flag cake of their own, by using blueberries to make the stripes and yellow gumdrops cut into small stars.
