or if they feel there is a danger to their young. They will also attack humans if extremely hungry or to protect thier kill.

Cougars are rarely seen. Paw prints along creeks or in snow give sign that a cougar has been in the area. If you ever have the opportunity to observe these animals in their natural habitat, do so. It is an unforgettable experience.

Author’s Note:

As for the cougar that was spotted locally, it was never found and there have been no further sightings at this time. Officials speculate that the large amount of snow that has fallen in Ontario this year has driven the cat closer to the city in search of food. Now that a warm front has moved into the area, they feel the cougar has moved on in order to avoid contact with humans.
