Signal Hill can provide you with an enjoyable stay for an hour or you can spend a full day. There is never a lack of unique discoveries here.

Newfoundland summers are often cool because of the winds that blow in off the ocean. Fog is a typical weather feature. Be sure to bring a sweater or light jacket. Weather here can change quite quickly.

Signal Hill National Historic Site is open year-round. From May 15 to October 15, there is a bilingual service available. Lookout Trail, the Visitor Centre and washrooms are wheelchair accessible. Picnic facilities are available.

Signal Hill Historic Site closes on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. The Visitor Centre if open from June 15 to September 7 from 8:30AM to 8PM. The rest of the year it is open from 8AM to 4:30PM.

Admission fees to Signal Hill are reasonable. Adults: $2.50; Seniors 65 years and over: $2.00; Youths 6 to 16 years: $1.50; Children under 6 are admitted free. A family pass is $6.00, while a reduced rate to $2.00 is available to bus tours. Commercial image fees are $200.

If you have purchased an Eastern Newfoundland National Historic Sites pass, it may be used to enter Signal Hill. The money raised through admission fees remains in the site or park where it is collected. When you visit the parks and sites, you are investing in their future. This will leave a legacy for future generations.
