When the series began, the favorite couples were Jamie and Tia, and Kevin and Sherri. Jamie and Tia had their ups and downs, but after the death of her brother, their relationship seemed doomed to failure. She suddenly "found" religion, and they weren't able to make it work. Same with Kevin and Sherri -- a teen romance turned into a teen marriage (with a detour through teen pregnancy), but when the baby died, the marriage faltered, although the two tried hard to get it together and keep it together. Degrassi [Junior] High Throughout the series, the focus was on the relationship of a number of characters, but in the final years, it was Caitlin and Joey who were front and center. It was always Joey fawning over Caitlin, and Caitlin not being able to commit. When the series ended, it looked like the two might be on the road to a college romance, but the follow-up movie (in which Joey impregnates a former schoolmate while cheating on Caitlin) ended that relationship. Due South [both] Always hinted at but never realised was the love/hate relationship between Fraser and his commanding officer (Margaret Thatcher). A few close misses and some near shaves, but the two always manage to remain apart from each other. The relationship was better established in the original series (with Marciano still around). Much of the storylines set forth in the original were ignored in the spin-off. Power Play In the first season, the question on everyone's lips [regarding Brett Parker and Colleen Blessed] was, "Will they or won't they?" The question on everyone's lips the second season was, "Why did they even bother?" Brett and Colleen made the perfect match in season one -- both so obsessed with their own power and career, it would take a minor miracle to bring them to their knees. Now, they've fallen by the wayside, with each one finding solace in the arms of someone they had best stayed away from. Go To Page: 1
