According to "Cover Me", the RCMP (represented by Colin Ferguson in the role of 'Corporal Andrew Case' and his superior Phillip Craig as 'Colonoel Endicott') has been trying to get CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) off their backs for years. However, CSIS (represented by Caroline Neron in the role of 'Pascale Laurier' and her superior Jackie Burroughs as 'Caitlin Crawford') has other plans. When Case and Laurier are forced to work together when terrorists begin invading Canada, the sparks fly.
Filmed on location in Toronto, Ontario, "Cover Me" is the latest schtick from Alliance Atlantis, producers of the fabulous mini-series "Joan of Arc" (starring Leelee Sobieski) and the hot Canadian shows "Traders" and "Power Play" and the former home of the "Due South"s, but unless the mini-series has a lot more to it than just the hype, don't look for this one to win any awards. The idea of a spy agency and a cop shop are "Been There, Done That, Moved On". We combined Mountie and Chicago cop with "Due South". We saw spies in action with "La Femme Nikita". We even saw spies meet cops meet former thieves with the 1997 - 1998 bomb "Once a Thief". Unless there's something really special that happens this time around, BOOM! That's it, I'm sorry -- thanks, but no thanks. Go To Page: 1
