he has been cleared of this crime completely, Milgaard is trying to live his life to the fullest, and has settled in British Columbia with his wife. The 1997 DNA evidence removed any lingering suspicion that Canadians may have had about Milgaard's guilt. It's ironic -- David Milgaard spent twenty-two years in prison for a crime he did not commit, but had he admitted to the crime and expressed remorse, the parole board might have released him much sooner.
