Speaking of healthcare, the federal government's response to Bill 11 has been interesting, if divided. Health Minister Allan Rock has been a vocal opponent, speaking out openly against the bill in Calgary, and vowing to act if the Bill contravenes the Canada Health Act. The Prime Minister's response has been more muted. What's interesting is that Herb Gray, a wily veteran who has survived numerous political skirmishes, recently spoke out against the Bill in a way that seemed more supportive of Rock's position. Is this perhaps a gentle hint to the Prime Minister that he should consider stepping aside sooner rather than later?
