Maritimer Mary Pratt paints the light emanating from chicken prepped for the oven, from aluminum foil, through a gossamer wedding dress, off of stainless steel and glass. She paints the sacred of our everyday lives. I found one article, a review of a book about her, at http://ads.canoe.ca/JamBooksReviewsA/art... and some pictures of her work on the Mira Godard Gallery site (see below). Mary's husband Christopher Pratt also paints professionally, as does their daughter. Can anyone help here? What is the Pratt daughter's name? Galleries on Line: The internet may help break through the traditional isolation of individual artists working alone by making work more easily accessible to consumers who like to look and buy if and when we can. Next to publishing their own websites, contemporary artists enjoy the exposure offered by galleries with a web presence. The two that stood out in my research are the Diane Farris Gallery in Vancouver. http://www.dianefarrisgallery.com/ Check out Chris Woods from Chilliwack, BC! And the Mira Godard Gallery in Toronto, a virtual who's who of Canadian artists today. http://www.godardgallery.toronto.on.ca/ Ivan Eyre, Jane Ash Poitras, the Pratts, to list only a few. If you have a favourite Canadian on-line art gallery, please send the address so we can all see and enjoy.
