In upcoming weeks and months I'll be writing about individual units of the Canadian Military in it's endeavors during the worlds wars that it has been involved in. As I've researched all the previous articles, I've come to see that Canada has sent it's armed forces to almost all of the major armed conflicts in the world, excluding only Vietnam.

Canadians serving with the U.S. military in Vietnam were volunteers from Canada or from Canadians living in the U.S. and even some draftees from among the many Canadians living in the U.S.

Canada's men and women have always been in the forefront of volunteerism for it's military duties in all of it's military undertakings. Canada, although as large as the United States in land mass but only inhabited by one-tenth the people, has contributed a large percentage of it's population to the defence of world peace and democracy. They have been brave, forthright, and noble. Whether they served in the Merchant Navy, Army, Navy, or Air Force, their contributions have been beyond reproach. It has received many awards, presentations, and citations from the worlds governments for it's contributions. It's individuals have earned many personal awards, citations, and medals. From it's own Victoria Cross, to the United States' Medal of Honor and Presidential Citation.

I will be covering the actions of Canada's most prestigious outfits - to it's most obscure units and their duties. From the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and the Devil's Brigade in World War Two, to the First Nations People in the War of 1812. If you have a favorite unit you would like covered, or maybe you have a friend or relative that served in a unit you would like to know more about, please contact me at one of the places listed below and I will get working on it. One of the more obscure units activated during World War Two was the Veterans Guard of Canada. This unit was activated for the home defence of Canada itself.

The casualties of the Canadian military, wounded or killed, have been horrendous. Thousands upon thousands have given the ultimate gift to freedom and democracy. Without thought of remuneration, only thoughts of glory and the need to help, Canadian's have given their all for freedom.

I am always online - researching, browsing, checking facts, digesting information, and would appreciate any and all information about these great forces that have been involved in the defence of the worlds people. I know there are a lot more sites and links than what I have found so far, so I would like to enlist my readers help in discovering more and more sites. Or if you know of
