Introduce proportional representation? It has benefits but it also makes it extremely difficult to obtain majority governments. And who represents the local constituency?

British Columbians have an enormous decision to make in the next eighteen months, one that could have ramifications for the parliamentary system in the whole country.

But after so many years of wringing our hands and beating our chests about the sorry state of our electoral system, Premier Campbell's commitment to concrete action to address the issue may finally usher in a model the whole province - and country - can be proud of.

For that, he deserves credit. And whether or not he deserves our votes may soon be decided in a new and improved manner.
