Fun Project for Kids© Brandon M.
Hi, my name is Brandon. I'm 9 years old. Grandma wanted me to tell you about the project I had to do for school. She says other kids might like to do it for fun. The project really was fun to do and I learned a lot.
We were given these instructions: Cover a shoe box with colored paper. I used shiny red paper for the bottom part of the box. I covered the lid with shiny silver paper that matched. We were to decorate the shoe box with stickers, pictures and graphs as follows: Canadian maps and flags. Pictures showing the Canadian economy. Pictures showing Canadian culture. On the lid of my box I put the following: A picture of my great-grandpa (Grandma's father) in his soldier's uniform. A picture of a Native village with teepees. Stickers that included the word Canada, maps of Canada and Canadian flags. I pasted on a graph that Grandma and I found on the Internet. It showed Canada's economic growth since 1987. Other stickers included a beaver, a man playing hockey, a Canadian goose. On the edge of the lid, I pasted little Canada flags all around. On the sides of the box I pasted: A picture of a Native princess with a fawn. A picture of a Native chief in his headdress. A picture of a pioneer woman and girl. Lots of stickers showing Canada's culture. Inside the box, we were to put the following: Souvenirs or important items that showed Canada's culture. Maps and flags of Canada. Graphs and pictures showing Canada's economic growth. Pictures showing Canada's culture. A list of Canadian trivia questions and answers. This is what I put inside my box: Pictures of Canadian geese and their goslings. Pictures of Natives. A small totem pole souvenir. A small souvenir plate showing a picture of the Bluenose. A book of Canadian trivia questions, answers and puzzles. A list of trivia questions that Grandma helped me get off the internet. Pictures of the Oil Sands. Pictures of a car being made in Oshawa. A picture of a farm on the Canadian prairies. A picture of my Great-Uncle baling hay. Pictures of Maritime fishing. A graph that showed about Maritime lobster fishing. A picture of a salmon. A picture of apples growing in the Annapolis valley. Postcards showing scenes and animals from Canada. A pencil case with the Canadian flag on it and also a pencil sharpener. Pictures of pioneers, whales, caribou, seals, penguins and other animals. Pictures of fishing in Nova Scotia, China town in Vancouver, logging and other industries. I have to present my project to my class by taking the items out of the box and explaining about them. If you do this for fun, you won't have to do that.
