Planning the particulars of a camping trip—your route, driving distances and camp-overs—is the fun part of trip preparation. There are a number of excellent software programs on the market to help with this process.

Expedia Streets and Trips 2000

Expedia Streets and Trips 2000 is very easy to use. With 20 million miles of North American roads, addresses and places are easy to locate. The program provides options to customize and change your route, stop-overs and preferred roads (freeway or scenic roads). Streets and Trips will figure out gasoline costs, time of arrival at stops, and more.

Expedia Streets and Trips 2000 contains 9,500 Woodall campground listings, 12,000 articles, and 14,000 restaurant listings. The program provides a detailed itinerary, a trip summary, and excellent maps.

2000 Trailer Life RV Campground Finder

The 2000 Trailer Life RV Campground Finder  is a new CD version of Trailer Life's bound directory, a highly respected RV publication (the official directory of the Good Sam Club). You can print listings and maps to take along on your trip.

National Geographic Trip Planner

The National Geographic Trip Planner Deluxe Special Edition offers a trip wizard, 100,000 points of interest, hikes, scenic drives, and restaurant listings. Included are detailed maps, itineraries, campgrounds, park maps, and trip customizing tools. With its online travel resource center, this trip planner will help with any camping trip.
