Mickey Mouse Gardens: PART 1.

Other favorites are Mexico, France and England. Mexico’s World Showcase has gardens surrounding a 3-story Mayan temple rising out of a Yucatan jungle. The latter gives the feeling of a rain forest, complete with tropical philodendrons and bromeliads. Brightly colored bougainvillea provide accents.

The gardens of France depict springtime in Paris. Street trees, including crape myrtle, line the central boulevard. Colorful baskets of bedding plants are planted along the sidewalk cafĂ© bringing the flowers to eye level. In England, well-groomed lawns, gabled rooftops, shops along cobblestone streets and a waterside pub provide ambiance. A perennial garden provides color next to a cottage that is a replica of one belonging to Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway.

Finally, other gardens depict Italy, Germany, Norway, China and Morocco. Next week: the landscape at Harry Leu Gardens and Bok Tower Gardens.
