There are other Indian pharmaceutical companies who are working in similar
lines. Dr Reddy's Laboratories has already licensed its first major
molecule, an anti-diabetes drug, to Novo Nordisk. Other Indian reputed
companies like Cipla and Nicholas Piramal, are getting into the
research-based growth path. These companies are aiming to tap the large
pool of skilled personnel available in India for greater value addition in
the drugs discovery and testing. This in turn is expected to help these
companies attain higher growth rates than through the traditional path.
