Delightful Crinum
well-drained. The bulb of Crinum bulbispermum is used medicinally by the South Africans. Propagation is by offsets and seed.
Offsets can be taken off and planted after flowering or during the dormant period Sow seed as sown as soon as it is ripe. They will usually flower from the third season onwards.
Crinums can be used indoors in very mild parts of the Northern Hemi sphere. Protection is a must in very cold areas and areas of high frosts.
I grow most of mine in pots but I have C. moorei in a garden bed where they do very well. I have found it to be true that C. moorei doesn't mind a bit of shade and the flower is always spectacular to see.
