Festive Cheer in the Garden.
Christmas seems to come around so quickly! I remember the thrill it used to give me when my children were still children and the pleasure we would get in seeing their faces light up at this time of the year - especially at the present-giving time. It's really no different for us now, as an older couple who have their "regular senior moments". The only difference is that our family has grown larger. With ten grand children around to help us celebrate it is always a "magic" time of the year for me as I really love Christmas and all it stands for. We always manage to have our usual yearly get togethers where as many family members as possible congregate to sit around and catch up with all the latest news, views and gossip. As you grow older, you also seem to accumulate a large number of friends and acquaintances and there is always someone to buy a small gift for at this festive time of the year. What better choice to make is something for, or to do with the garden. There are so many wonderful gifts to choose from and you really can choose something for all for friends that suits their style. Summer in Australia is a wonderful time of the year and just about everybody is out and about in the garden. They are either gardening, or having lunch; or, having an evening BBQ that we Australians love to do so much. I have complied a small list of gifts and presents we might consider giving at this time of the year: Kangaroo Statue consider a beautful statue that would stand inside your gate or even as a centrepiece for a feature. This would be a great talking point as you sat around the BBQ. Lilium Plant What better time of the year than now for the beautiful Liliums to flower. There are many out now in my garden which bring us lots of festive joy. Statues are just wonderful presents to give and there is always such a variety to choose from. Wind chimes are a great gift. We have quite a few in our garden and the musical tinkling sounds waft through the garden on a breezy day There are so many items to choose from these days, it is often hard to make a decision as to what to buy. Sometimes you may bring something home and like it so much, you decide to keep it yourself. I have. Have you ever done this? I'm sure many people have. Go To Page: 1 2
