My First Web Builder site is using about 55Mb of space, including several autoresponders, and e-books and program files available for download. My bandwidth varies between 500Mb and 2Gb per month. Things like subscriber bargains in my monthly e-zine, holiday weekends, and special offers on my home page all affect bandwidth used.
Email - another variable You'll get at least one email address for your site, and probably several. You can then "forward" that email to your personal email address if you wish. Most hosts allow several email addresses - you can use different addresses for different staff members if you have a business site, or for different subjects such as orders, customer services, etc. This allows you to sort your incoming mail according to priority. If email is going to be a big part of your web business, check how many email addresses you'll probably need, and how many your prospective hosting companies allow. To read your mail, depending on your host you can either: forward your web site email to your personal email account and download it with your email program (most paid hosting allows this option) read it online as webmail (many free hosting companies only allow this method now) If you choose to forward your email and download it, you'll probably need to log on to your email boxes on your host's server occasionally to delete the server copies of those emails. I only discovered this after two years with my host, when I got an email telling me my mailboxes were filling up! Go To Page: 1 2
