Air-India is offering international operations from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, beginning April 4, 2002.
The flights on a 200-seater Airbus 310 aircraft on Thursdays and Mondays will open a new gateway for Assam and other North Eastern States - Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. This will make it easier for back-packers and the rest of us to reach unexplored tourist destinations in the North Eastern region. Ms Budget Travel would also like to remind readers who are members of El Al's frequent flyer program that many flights have been cut from the schedule while the region is in a condition of extreme unrest --- but that El Al is operating and some special promotions, particularly for Israeli based members are on offer. It's best to check with the program web site at http://www.elal.co.il/programs/index.htm. Thanks for stopping by. . .
