Lately Ms Budget Travel has been inundated with email offering her exceptional deals on her frequent flyer miles ---- with air travel in decline numerous airlines are offering tickets for fewer than the usual number of miles or offering specials. If you're a mile hoarder this might be a good time to have a go at letting loose a bit and taking off.

Ms Budget travel has also been following the news about Amtrak. If you've wanted to travel the rails in the USA this summer may be a good time to do it. With the upcoming talk of possible privatization rail service come fall could be disrupted for a while.

http://www.independenttraveler.com/ offers breaking bargains and bunches of useful information along with access to information about airline security and other travel topics.

Last week Ms Budget Travel took a sacred vow to make a real effort to find bargains that do not originate on the east coast of the USA or out of a London airport. This week she had to have several soothing drinks, as her quest was fraught with difficulty when she tried the usual mass search engines. However, she continued her quest and found fare sales for folks on the left coast. America West has some great prices to lure you into the air and they conveniently list them all on one page with an easy search feature: http://www.americawest.com/specials/sp_f...

Ms Budget Travel also found some attractive prices for breaks in Cancun and Acapulco at http://www.thetravelsite.com/packagebarg... --this particular site offers bookings from both coasts and several in-between spots.

Air Canada also offers specials off its website at http://www.aircanada.ca/home.html. Visit quickly if you are interested in travel to the USA for Valentine's day --- Air Canada has special promotional fares that can only be purchased through February 5th for travel between the 4th and 17th of this month. Ms Budget Travel suggests book marking this site as they post promotions on their front page when they're on offer.

http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/app/saa is another must bookmark site for folks who travel around the Pacific rim --- hit promotions and then scrolls down to the select your country bit. Currently the Affordable Singapore package looks like an incredible deal --- until March 2002 travel from Los Angeles or San Francisco with a four night hotel stay, half day tour, buffet breakfasts and airport transfers runs as low as $880 with a midweek departure. Yes, dears, Ms Budget Travel knows that is a lot of money --- but it isn't a lot of money for air fare and four nights in a Singapore hotel. The lowest price travelocity lists for the route alone is currently 628 USD and while she did find one hotel on travelocity in Singapore in the fifty-dollar range most of those on offer were expensive.
